Rivers with Class I - IV water and more difficult Class IV+ rapids: waves 4-5 feet with drops complicated by difficult passages. Obstacles may require quick, precise maneuvering. Falling out of the raft and "swimming" in a rapid will be difficult.
Best for those with Class III experience wanting to try-out Class IV, or for athletic, very adventurous first-timers.

Dowd Chute, a Class IV+ section of the Eagle River, has continuous rapids along this high altitude alpine river. The steep section of Dowd Chute Rapid extends nearly 1/4 mile long. This is Action-packed! Only 10 minutes away from Vail and Beaver Creek.
